What happens when you get an enquiry?
You will receive a notification via email to log into your portal to respond. The message from the potential booker will show dates, timings and other details such as the production’s Public Liability Insurance – which is a requirement for all productions using Film Locations.
Once you have agreed a fee and all details for the shoot, the booker can proceed with making a booking request. You can then accept or decline the booking. Accepting will invite the booker to pay the agreed fee directly into your account.
Once the client has paid you will be notified and the funds usually transfer into your dedicated bank account within 5-10 days.
When will I get paid for my booking?
When you have agreed with the client the price and details of the shoot the production can request to book your location. Check all the details are correct and confirm.
The booker will then check the details and pay by credit card into our secure escrow account. Once the shoot has been completed the funds are transferred into your account ready for you to withdraw. Please note, we do charge a 5% platform fee to cover transaction fees and day to day running.
How much should I charge clients to hire my property?
We receive e-mails from our members all the time asking how much they should charge for the hire of their property or vehicle…well, how long is a piece of string?
It’s hard to give a definitive answer to this question as each listing is different, as is each shoot. However, we’ve done our best to put some guidelines in place for you with our rate calculator
Is my property good enough?
This is the most commonly asked question. The simple answer is ‘yes!’. You only need to turn on the TV or flick through a magazine to see the vast array of properties being used as photo shoot locations. Film location scouts are always after fresh new places for filming – from empty warehouses to country mansions to council flats…you never know, your property could be exactly what they are looking for next.
Can I hire out part of my property?
There are no rules about how much or how little you can advertise on Film Locations. You can add your entire property or a single room, just remember to specify in your listing how much of your property is available.
What is film locations?
Film Locations is a direct location booking platform. It also offers property owners the opportunity to register their location to hire out for shoots to our vast network of trusted industry professionals.

Rather than rely on an agent, creators can search on Film Locations to find exactly what they’re looking for and have direct contact with owners, agreeing the dates and negotiating rates for the shoot. Payments are made through our platform securely and directly to the location owner – no booking or agency fees. No invoicing!
