St Mary’s Church, North Mymms Welwyn Hatfield
Back to searchDescription
A 13th Century, Grade II* listed Anglican Church, within the Diocese of St Albans and Hatfield Team Ministry. We have an ancient churchyard featuring a number of old gravestones and monuments. There is a modern church hall attached. There are kitchen and toilet facilities too. There are 3 very old dwellings adjacent, 2 of which are also listed. a Vicarage built in the 1970’s is also close by. It is situated to the East of North Mymms Park and 3 miles from Hatfield. North Mymms Park contains a Jacobean Mansion House, privately owned, but operating as a wedding venue and has of late been used by film producers such as Netflix. St Mary’s has been used as a location by the BBC, ITV and other film producers in the past, but apart from the church hall being used as a ‘Green Room’ for the recent Alison Steadman and Dave Johns film ’23 Walks’ we have not had the opportunity to host any major filming since last century. We are keen to make our church available to production companies for appropriate filming, however we are still very much an active church with the usual requirements and compliment of weekly services, plus weddings, Baptisms and Funerals. We are sited up a long tree lined driveway. There is a public footpath running through our graveyard but it is described as rural.
