Description

On the corner of Dunsford Road and Buddle Lane, this striking period property is thought to date back to around 1900 — and it has a fascinating story to tell.

The house was designed by two architects who were also responsible for designing the original school that once stood on the plot opposite. Although the school was later destroyed by fire, the house remains, and its distinctive exterior has made it a familiar landmark to generations of Exeter residents and is listed on many heritage sites.

And the character certainly doesn’t stop at the front door.

🏡 History outside. Drama inside.

The interiors have been designed to celebrate the age and personality of the house rather than hide it.

Expect rich colour, ornate details, gold ceilings, William Morris wallpaper and wonderfully eclectic interiors throughout. Every room has its own character, creating a home that feels more like a beautifully collected private house than a conventional holiday rental.

There are plenty of spaces to spread out, relax and enjoy the house.

Downstairs

🛏️ Upstairs

The first floor has:

* Three beautifully individual double bedrooms

* Separate dressing room

The bedrooms continue the home’s colourful, characterful style, making this a stay that’s as much about the surroundings as it is about where you sleep.

🌳 A surprisingly spacious garden

Step outside and you’ll find a large, level, enclosed garden, complete with mature trees and plenty of room to relax.

During the warmer months, the garden comes into its own, with BBQ facilities and outdoor tables available

Despite its central Exeter position, the garden offers a lovely sense of privacy and escape.
