Little Thakeham is located in the folds of the South Downs in West Sussex. Built from locally quarried sandstone with handmade clay roof tiles, the house has a warm, earthy palette that shifts beautifully with the light. The interiors of Little Thakeham reflect Lutyens’ sensitivity to proportion, material, and light. 

Natural materials like local stone, oak, and plaster are used with restraint and care, creating a quiet, timeless palette. Rooms are well-proportioned and full of subtle detail — from elegant stone fireplaces and carved timber elements to original ironwork and finely shaped doorways.
